TOUR PLAN
NEW CD RELEASE!!!

The Woodland Jazz Band is a seven piece band from Århus, Denmark. The band pays tribute to New Orleans trombonist Edward "Kid" Ory.

The repertoire includes tunes associated with the bands that Ory worked with. From Louis Armstrong's Hot Five, Johnny Dodd's Bootblacks/Wanderers, Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers, to Ory's own Creole Jazz Band.

The music is relaxed, swinging, and great for dancing.

The musicians have many years of experience playing clubs, festivals, and private engagements.

Whenever the band plays, they guarantee the audience a great time with the music of the "king of the tailgate trombone"-Kid Ory.

Kristian is the youngest member of the Woodland Jazz Band. He started his musical education at the Music School of Herning, aged 10. For the next 8 years he studied piano and drums, playing with the local symphony orchestra and smaller jazz groups.

His musical traing continued in the Brass Band of the Danish Marine Corp, playing snare drum for them for one and a half years.

In Spring 2008 he started listening to great piano players like Jelly Roll Morton and Buster Wilson who inspired him to fill out the rythym section of the band. He joined us in Summer 2008.
